It´s been only a few months since I started blogging and I admit I was a bit skeptical about it at the beginning but it is true.

Beware of Blog Submission Software

A blog submission software may easily post comments on thousands of blogs in a short period of time but google detects this easily and will surely ban your site.

So, stay away from blog submission software.

Free Software To Submit Your Site to Directories

Software to help you submit your site´s visibility by appearing in different directories is available on the web. They are easy to get and install. They are easy to use. In only a couple of minutes you will be able to submit your URL to 100 or so directories.

They help you track which directories have approved your request and they will even allow you to make reports displaying the page rank of these directories so that you can prioritize your submission accordingly.

However, in my personal experience, I have not seen any positive results in my daily visits. I have not seen any changes in my page rank value either even though the link exchange is supposed to benefit you as well.

My advice is that you should concentrate on a more customized marketing campaign by posting comments on related blogs in order to catch new visitors. It will take longer, but the results will be evident.

Increase Your Site´s Visits Increasing Traffic

I have several blogs and in my humble opinion what has resulted best for me in increasing my site´s traffic are the following:

Adding content.

By adding content you increase your chances of appearing in Google´s search results when somebody performs a search.

Based on the blogs that I have, those that I post on regularly receive the most amount of free traffic sent by search engines. In some of them, google´s free traffic represent up to 75% of the traffic they receive daily.

Marketing through commenting on other people´s blog

Leaving interesting comments with a link to your site has also shown me that creates important source of visits to your site. You have to be choosy though. Do not leave comments randomly. If you choose your blogs carefully, not only will you be saving time but also you will be increasing the chances of getting a satisfactory response. The more related the site´s content to your site´s content, the higher the chances some of those visitors will come by your blog.

Commenting on Facebook´s related groups has surprised me in satisfactory ways.

Things that have not had a great impact (so far) in my site´s audience:

How Do You Know If Your Site Has Been Indexed?

If you are no using Google Webmaster Tools, you can easily find out if your site is already in Gooble´s Index by doing the following search in Google:

site:yoursite.com

Instead of “yoursite.com” you should write your site´s domain. No spaces, no comas. Do not include “www” or “http”. Just write your site´s domain preceeded by “site:” and by google´s search result will find out if your site is listed or not.

Remember that it may usually take a few weeks to enter the Index. Be patient, My experience is that you can speed up the process by following the tips listed on “7 ways to add your url to Google Index in 24 to 48 hours.”

The Easiest Way To Add the Amazon Link in blogger

You can easily add the Amazon Link in blogger by going to the Layout Tab and then selecting Page Elements from the submenu.

You should then click the "Add a Gadget link" and once the pop up window has opened, select "HTML/JavaScript" shown in the image below:

Copy and paste the HTML code provided by Amazon in the Content Area of the new pop up window displayed. Save the changes and you are ready to go.

You are free to drag the new gadget wherever allowed in the page. Try different positions and see what works best for you.

Cannot Change The Label Position in My Blogger Template

I have several blogger templates and I have been trying to change the label position from below the title to below the body of my blog:

This picture belongs to my Non Verbal Communication and Body Language Blogger Blog.

I go to the Layout Tab and select Page Elements. I click the Edit Button on the Blog Post Element and I relocate the Label Gadget below the body of my blog post. However, when I save the changes nothing happens. The Label still appears below the title of my post as shown in the picture above.

If this happens we can always modify the html code directly going to the Layout Label and then selecting Edit HTML.

You should look for the following code which refers to the Label Gadget on your template:

...and PASTE in under the 1st Post footer line:

Before saving the changes, you can preview your template so that you make sure you've done it properly. You may then go ahead and save your template.

Cannot Log In To My Amazon Associates Account

This is not the first time that I am getting this error message when I try to log in to my Amazon Associates Account:

"The e-mail address and password you are using are not connected to an Associates account. If your Associates e-mail address or password is different from the one used with your Amazon.com customer account, please log in here. If you still have problems logging in, please contact us."

I am surprised to find in forums all over the web, that this is a recurring problem. I have found posts since 2005.

When I try to have my password reset I get the error message that my email address does not belong to one of Amazon's Account.

Both times I had this problem I was able to have a satisfactory response after exchanging a few emails with an Amazon Affiliate Program Rep at account-update@amazon.com helping me reset the password.

How to Disable the Copy Paste Function on your Website for Blogger

If you have a blogger template and work hard on publishing original content on your blog you might be interested in learning how to protect your posts from being stolen.

Content being plubished on the web is easily copied. It is important that you protect your work and there are several tools for this.

One way of making it a little bit harder for those trying to steal your content is to disable the copy paste function.

Please bear in mind that this is no guarantee that your content will not be copied. Someone with a little bit of experience may be able to bypass this JavaScript. But at least you are not making it so easy for them.

Please find below the HTML code that you need to instert in your blogger template in order to disable the copy paste function.

Amazon Associates: Adding the Amazon Link to Blogger

You joined the Amazon Affiliate Program: Amazon Associates and if you are trying to add the Amazon code directly to your Blogger HTML Template you might be getting the following error message:

XML Error Message: “Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.”
or “The reference to entity “o” must end with the ‘;’ delimiter.”

This common error is generated by the sign ampersand "&". There is a particular type of characters known as character entities that begin with ampersand "&" and finish with a semi colon ";". When the code that you are trying to insert contains this sign "&" this error occurs.

You should try replacing the ampersand sign “&” in the Amazon Code with its equivalent in the HTML language:

ASCII characters: &
HTML equivalent: &

Replace the ampersand each time it appears with &

Encuentra en este articulo los pasos a seguir para montar tu propio negocio en internet y generar un ingreso adicional. No se requiere demasiado conocimiento o inversión económica. Sólo se requiere tiempo y ganas de aprender.

1. Tené tu propio blog.

Hay distintos sitios que te permiten tener un blog en forma totalmente gratuita. Blogger.com y Wordpress son dos de ellos. En mi caso, si bien Wordpress ofrece muchísimas más opciones y servicios a la hora de armar tu blog, te sugiero comenzar con Blogger ya que te permite publicar publicidad de Google a través del programa AdSense. No así Wordpress.

Para poder publicar tu blog, solo tienes que registrarte en www.blogger.com

Los pasos son sencillos y puede seleccionar el idioma “español” en el margen superior derecho. Deberás elegir un titulo para tu blog y una dirección o dominio donde registrarlo. El programa te irá guiando pero si tienes alguna consulta, no dudes en hacérmela. Deja tu inquietud al final del artículo.

2. Elige el tema sobre el cual vas a escribir.

Tienes algún hobby? Eres fanático de algo en particular? De qué tema puedes hablar por horas? Qué cosa te apasiona? En qué eres un experto?

Una vez que te hayas decidido sólo siéntate y empieza a escribir. Escribe un artículo informativo o bien una lista de consejos, una guía útil o simplemente un artículo de opinión.

Publícalo. Avísale a tus contactos que lo lean. Invítalos a participar y a opinar. Invítalos a dejar comentarios. Pídeles que te den su opinión con respecto a si el artículo es claro, o si pueden aportar algún dato adicional.
Escribe regularmente. Una vez por semana, para empezar y luego puedes ir publicando más seguido hasta llegar a una vez por día. Aumentarás así el contenido de tu blog.

3. Suscríbete al programa AdSense de Google.

Finalmente, el paso más importante. Para poder generar ingresos con tu blog, es necesario afiliarse al programa AdSense de Google.

¿Qué es AdSense?

Es el programa por el cual uno le sede los derechos a Google para ubicar publicidad de diversos anunciantes en nuestras páginas. Por cada clic que una persona realice en los avisos que se muestran en nuestras páginas, Google nos dará un porcentaje de lo que ha pagado ese anunciante.

Es importante tener en cuenta que no debemos bajo ningún concepto ser nosotros mismos quienes hacemos clic en los avisos. Tampoco debemos pedirle a nuestros amigos que lo hagan por nosotros. Google a desarrollado sofisticadas herramientas para detectar esto y no dudara en cancelar tu cuenta si nota algún clic inválido.

Es importante que te tomes el tiempo para leer bien cada ítem enumerado pero puedo resumir que deberás cuidar que tu sitio no tenga contenido para menores o racista, sobre drogas, apuestas o cualquier contenido que sea ilegal.

Te aconsejaría también esperar unos meses antes de completar la solicitud para afiliarte. De esta manera te asegurarás que hayas acumulado algo de contenido. Si bien no esta prohibido expresamente tener una página exclusivamente para generar ingresos con AdSense, lo ideal sería que no diera esa impresión.

How to increase adsense revenue by showing ads between my posts

In order to increase your adsense revenue, you might want to show your google ads between each of your posts. Among Google AdSense tools, this is one of my favourites. If you have a blogger account, follow the next simple steps. Please be aware that you need to already have an account with Google AdSense before you can do this.

1. Go to your Layout tab

2. Select the Page Elements tab

3. In the Blog Post Section, click on the “Edit” link.

4. A pop up window will appear with a series of options. Check the box next to “Show ads between posts”.

Once you have selected to show your ads between your posts, other set up options will be displayed:

5. Select how often you would like the Google ads to appear (from 1 to 5). If you would like the ads to appear after each of you posts, you should select 1. Remember that the AdSense policies allow you to have up to 3 ad units per page. You do not have to worry as Blogger will automatically prevent you from going over this limit.

7 ways to add your url to Google Index in 24 to 48 hours.

It make take up to several weeks for the Google spider to crawl your site and add it to the index. However, these tips below have helped me get my sites indexed in 24 to 48 hours. I hope you find them helpful.

A) To begin with, you should try to submit your site’s url to Search Engines (they will find you naturally but this might speed the process): Google, Yahoo, MSN. Below find some examples:

1. Submit your site to Google http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl.

This is the first step. This will help Google find, index and rank your site.

2. Submit your site to Google Blog Search http://blogsearch.google.com/ping.

If your site is a blog, it won’t hurt to take advantage of this option provided by Google.

3. Verify your site or blog in Google Webmater Tool: http://www.google.com/webmasters/start/

It might be that after you do this, Google sends the spider to crawl your site to verify it. I am really not sure exactly how this works.
In addition to this, Webmaster Tools help you see how your site is performing in Google’s search results.

4. Sign up with Google Analytics: http://www.google.com/analytics/ and install the tracking code in your website.

In my opinion this works in a similar way. And it will also help you gain insight into your web traffic.

B) Use link building techniques as the ones listed below:

5. Get links from already indexed sites. Not any site, but quality sites.

You may get links from well-ranked sites such as Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers, reknown forums, reknown blogs. When you post a message you may ad your site address in your signature. So that you are not banned from spamming, make sure to write valuable content in the process.

6. Get listed in directories such as DMOZ.org and Digg.com

This will not only help you get indexed by google by also increase your web site traffic.

7. Avoid spammy SEO services that will try to sell you on top rankings.

This services offer you magic solutions to increase your web traffic but lately Google and other search engines have designed new ways to detect this kind of tactics. Your web traffic should increase slowly and steadily. This would be the natural way.
